課程概述 |
本課程分為兩部份：(1) 翻譯與兒童文學理論 (2)個案探討。學期之初將介紹兒童文學翻譯理論，探討為兒童和青少年寫作、翻譯、改寫經典作品時，可能遭遇的普遍問題；然後進入個案資料的蒐集與觀察。兒童與青少年文學翻譯長久以來是受到忽略的一個領域，本課程以芬蘭學者Riitta Oittinen的著作Translating for Children和英國學者 Gillian Lathey編輯的論文集The Translation of Children’s Literature: A Reader作為起點，思索兒童文學翻譯在台灣作為跨文化現象所涉及的複雜議題﹙語言文化、詩學、性別、權力、譯者角色、分齡與跨齡閱讀、批評論述形構、版權與商業利益等﹚。 |

課程目標 |
協助同學了解台灣翻譯兒童文學的背景、探討童書譯寫的策略、評價譯寫的品質、觀察各種影響兒童與青少年文學生產的體制和論述。透過個案的資料蒐集和課堂討論，逐步展開台灣兒童文學的翻譯研究。 |

課程要求 |
每週有中英文指定閱讀，針對閱讀在課前進行小考。同學必須積極參與課堂討論。第七週繳交期中報告﹙中文，五頁﹚，第八週以後開始研讀個案，期末須繳交十頁的英文報告。 |
